Olympique Lione's new owner Michele Kang will appear before the DNCG tomorrow. He has taken up his new role as the club's new owner, which was finalized recently, according to RMC Sport. Last year, Kang was instrumental in saving the club from bankruptcy as a minority shareholder. This time his goal is to rescue the club from the crisis.

Olympique Lyonnais is currently facing major financial problems, caused by previous owner John Textor. There is doubt as to what the DNCG will decide. They may issue warnings such as market closures, or fines, or even demotions. The new administration is acting cautiously, as the previous ownership required tough measures.

The club's financial situation has improved slightly, although a loss of 200 million euros has been reported in June 2025. EBITDA under Kang in the first six months was almost flat, at -2.2 million euros. However, there is still a total debt of 500 million euros, including the stadium. DNCG had already relaxed some measures in December, but still maintained the salary cap.

The team, led by Paulo Fonseca, is aiming to earn €40 million in the opening round of the Champions League, while Kang and DG Michael Gerlinger face legal challenges from former ownership. Despite the UEFA license being confirmed, the club still needs to raise €150 million by 2027, €87 million of which is due by the end of this year. Afonso Moreira's sale to Germany is instrumental in this need. DNCG is hoping that they will recognize the pay cut efforts, though past debt and decline of TV rights is a big challenge.
