Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Anana is on his way back to Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan. The deal is not yet finalized but sources say it is 90% done. There will be no purchase option in the contract. Anana played 29 matches at Trabzonspor on loan from United last season. He went out on loan after last August's shock EFL Cup defeat against Grimsby. It was his only appearance for United since the penalty defeat at Blundell Park. At the end of the season, he helped Trabzonspor win the Turkish Cup for the first time since 2020. Ananar, signed from Inter Milan for £47.2m in 2023, still has two years left on his contract with United and was due to return for pre-season training on July 9. But Anana, 30, knew he could not rule out coach Michael Carrick's first-choice Sean Lammens. The future of United's second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindi is also uncertain as Lamans is in Belgium's World Cup squad and talented youngster Radek Vitek is hopeful of a move before the start of pre-season training. Carrick's squad could feature some experienced goalkeepers in this situation, as well as veteran Tom Heaton, who will feature in the first friendly against Wrexham in Helsinki on July 17.
