£100 million record signing Sandro Tonali to join Tottenham Hotspur £100 million record signing Sandro Tonali said he decided to join Tottenham Hotspur from Newcastle United in less than 10 minutes. The 26-year-old midfielder said that he was able to take this decision after a meeting with coach Roberto de Jarbi. De Zerbi's love for Tonali's boyhood club Brescia also played a role in the decision. De Zerbi was a Brescia supporter and later played there, while Tonali started his career at Brescia. Their link therefore facilitated the signing of Tonali for the highest transfer fee in Tottenham's history. "We talked about Brescia, the difficult situation our club is in," Tonali said. Tonali considers this identity of de Zerbi as a supporter of Brescia very important. "I have been there 2/3 times. But Brescia is a very small place. I was there for 2 weeks." Tonali said that since De Zerbi was in charge of the coach at the Italian club Sassuolo, Tonali developed a certain relationship with him. "When he was the coach at Sassuolo, he expressed his interest in taking me. That was 9 years ago. But because he was the coach at Sassuolo and then went to another club, I couldn't go to those clubs if I was in Brescia. But if I had gone to other clubs, maybe I would have had the opportunity to go to De Jarby's next clubs. But everything was the opposite. When he went to another club, I couldn't go to another club. But when I was able to go to another club, it was actually because of De Zarby that I was able to go to that club." Tonali said that joining Tottenham Hotspur was much easier for him. "I also spoke to another club. But I realized within 10-15 minutes, Tottenham Hotspur is the best club for me. Me and my family want to go there. I think Tottenham Hotspur is the best club for my football, for my career, for my family." Tonali added, "I wanted to go to London as well, but London alone is not enough. Everything has to be right for my family, for the happiness of my family. But the management at Tottenham, the coach of Tottenham Hotspur, everything is 90 per cent of the reason why I came to Tottenham Hotspur." Tonali said he has a lot of pressure with the £100m transfer fee, but he is willing to take the pressure. "I know, there will be a lot of pressure. But I am willing to take the pressure. But I won't change the way I play because of the pressure. I will keep my style of play as before."

What will happen next?

Tonali is now part of Tottenham's squad, and his performances could be crucial to the team's success next season. He faces new challenges in Premier League football, where his skills and experience will be valuable to the team. Tottenham fans will welcome his arrival and hope he makes an impact on the pitch quickly.
