Wout Weghorst is excited about his transfer to FC Twente. He was introduced on Saturday and signed a two-year contract. Although Weghorst is from the region and a big Twente supporter, he has never played for the club. He started at NEO and entered professional football through Vriezenveen, Willem II, FC Emmen and Heracles Almelo. He then played for AZ, VfL Wolfsburg, Burnley, Besiktas, Manchester United, 1899 Hoffenheim and Ajax. Now he will play for his beloved club. He explained why he was feeling this emotion. 'This is a special transfer for me. I am proud that I will be wearing FC Twine's jersey next season. As a young supporter I was present at De Quype to celebrate FC Twine's cup wins in 2001 and 2011 and in the old market in 2010 when FC Twine were champions and I stood in the tribune at De Gros Veste on many memorable European evenings. These are bad memories', he said on Twine's club channels. 'Many of my football dreams have been fulfilled, but one was still left... thus it forms a complete picture. Next season I will give everything to celebrate success with FC Twint not as a supporter but as a player.'
