The final month of the season, May, brought various national league and cup competitions as well as the Champions League final. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won their final match against FC Arsenal 4-3 and this was reflected in the selection of ESM-Elf. 6 PSG players were selected by the jury of 9 sports magazines including Ousmane Dembelé (3 votes), Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes (4 votes each), Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7 votes each). Dembelé, who scored a penalty in the Champions League final, was instrumental in PSG's reach of the final by scoring in the second leg of the semi-final (1-1) in Munich at the start of May. Despite losing in the final, 3 players were also selected from Arsenal, who were crowned Premier League champions 1.5 weeks before the match against PSG. It was Arsenal's first league title since 2003/04. David Raya (5 votes), who was recently named the Premier League's best goalkeeper for 19 clean sheets, and centre-back William Saliba and midfielder Declan Rice (7 votes each) were voted in. The player who watched the Champions League final sitting in front of the TV received the most votes: Harry Kane. The Bayern Munich striker, who scored 3 of 7 goals in May against the DFB-Pokal final (3-0), was named Player of the Month with 9 votes. Kane is again in the ESM-Elf, with Bayern's Michael Olise (3 votes) also selected.
