As a result, Nestor Lorenzo's side have secured a place in the knockout stages and need at least a point to secure top spot in their group against Portugal in their final match. Here are my notes from this match: 1. Tight game but epic scenes The match started in presence of two great fanbases. Colombian fans naturally made up the majority of the stadium, but there was a famous fan, Lumumba Vea, to represent the central African team — a towering figure for DR Congo. Colombia showed dominance at the start of the match. The Colombians had most of the possession and had five shots on target in the first half. But Congo stood up well with their five-man defense and were able to create some chances of their own as time went on. In particular, defender Arthur Mesaku brought some long throws into the match, which were very effective for Congo. In the second half, Colombia again started to attack for goals. Although Nestor Lorenzo's team maintained possession of the ball, they could no longer be effective in attack. Meanwhile, Congo also managed to create a few chances. But Daniel Munoz once again showed magic for Colombia. Gujlajar was washed away by the cheers of the Colombian fans in the rain. 2. Muñoz, Colombia's substitutes overshadow star players Luis Diaz still exists as the face of Colombia (although he was ruled out for offside after scoring two goals), but the mainstay of the team is the supporting players. Players like Daniel Munoz are essentially playing a key role in Lorenzo's plans. Munoz's overall build is that of a close-range defender, but he never backs down to join the attack. He participates in every attack and enters the box when needed. He is also very effective in goals. His second goal in the World Cup is but an example of his aggressive attitude. Lorenzo made a few changes at the start of the second half in the match, with Juan Cuadrado replacing James Rodriguez, Richard Rios and John Córdoba. They all play a very effective role in goal.

3. Excellent performance by Leon Mpasi-Nzau We've heard of some of the most unlikely goalkeepers in the World Cup so far, and the newest addition to the list is DR Congo's Leon Mpasi-Nzau. In a word, he had an outstanding performance. He blocked a total of 8 shots, 5 of which were of excellent quality. While Colombian goalkeeper Camilo Vargas went through the match unscathed, in contrast Mpasi-Nzau had a tough match. 4. Get ready to party in Miami Colombia will travel to Miami on Saturday for a very exciting match, where they will face Portugal.
