South Korea beat Mexico 1-0 in their second match to secure a place in the knockout stages. Javier Aguirre's coach's decision that the match was quite tactical worked. The match was fiercely contested between the two teams from the start and with no goals scored in the first half, the match was of poor quality. A goal chance for Mexico came in the 51st minute of the second half when goalkeeper Kim and defender Kim Min-jae failed to clear a ball and Luis Romo found the back of the net. After conceding the goal, Korea became a bit more aggressive but could not break down Mexico's defense and create any more scoring opportunities for them. Mexico now topped the group and had a chance to advance to the knockout stages but lost this match, just like their first match against South Africa, to finish second and advance to the knockout stage. --- ## Related Articles 1.
