BBC Sports analysts Thomas Hitzlsperger, Joe Hart and Micah Richards criticized Paraguay's tactics in yesterday's (December 5) match against France.
Paraguay lost the match 0-2. France scored both goals including penalties. PSG star Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal from the penalty spot. Mbappe scored the second goal in the 78th minute of the match.
In this match, the Paraguayan players committed too many fouls on the French players. A total of 21 fouls were committed by Paraguay in the match.
Discussing the aftermath of the match, Thomas Hitzlsperger said,
"The plan that Paraguay came to play with was not acceptable at all. It was obscene, it was shameful. The strategy they adopted around their penalty area was not acceptable at all."
Joe Hart says,
"Of course I will try to protect Mbappe by fouling but entering the field and fouling or giving a penalty, these are things I would never expect from the Paraguayan players."
Micah Richards says,
"There should be a limit to fouls. I saw two players pull Mbappe, but I wouldn't expect anything like that from the Paraguayan players."
